Content changelog

Meaningful updates to guides, tools and policies, with dates. Typo fixes are not listed.

  1. Tester on the home page, verified echo server history, AI coding section

The home page now opens with the working WebTransport tester and one-click fill buttons for the documented public echo servers. The echo server page now cites the sources for the history of the old service: the Chromium announcement thread, Wayback Machine copies of the old pages and Chrome's documentation. The serverless page gained a short history of its URL. Added an AI coding hub, a news section (empty until its first post is published), a "which one should an AI assistant pick" section in the WebTransport vs WebSocket guide, and an editorial policy section on how AI coding tools are tested. Old URLs now redirect permanently.

  2. Reference data, tools and a clearer look

Added a browser support matrix, specification status tracker, implementations directory, glossary, API cheat sheet and a learning path, with JSON downloads and a data index. The tester now detects browser capabilities, shows a timeline and round-trip timings, and can export a report. Added a server-readiness checklist, in-browser checks for the public echo servers, diagrams with text versions on every guide, key facts, a cite box, site search (press /), and a corrections log. Removed sales wording from the trust pages and the developer-tools block from the homepage.

  3. SEO, structure and trust fixes

Set the site name to WebTransport Day and made the organisation the author of every page. Added visible Last updated and Facts checked lines, diagrams for the handshake, streams versus datagrams, and WebSocket versus WebTransport, plus per-page social images. Added how-to, limits and link snippets to the tester page, and this changelog. Content dates now come from front matter, git or file history.

  4. Initial publication

Published the independent WebTransport resource: the browser tester, the public echo server history and checked alternatives, the serverless and edge page, five guides, and the editorial, disclosure, contact and privacy pages. Technical facts were checked against W3C, IETF, MDN and provider documentation on this date.
